Four decades of local window and door work

About GTS Windows & Doors, Kitchener's Window and Door Company

GTS Windows & Doors is a window and door company based in Kitchener's Bridgeport area, installing and repairing windows and doors for homes and businesses since 1986. We are an installation company first: we measure, order, install and service the products we quote, so the quality of the finished opening rests with us. Over four decades that has meant everything from single glass replacements to complete window and door packages for new homes, additions and commercial buildings.

That focus matters because a window is only as good as the way it is fitted. A premium triple pane unit set into a poorly flashed opening will still leak air and water, so we give shimming, insulating and sealing the same attention as choosing the product. It is also why we back our installations with a warranty that includes labour, not only parts.

Our customers include homeowners, landlords and property managers, builders and general contractors, and businesses across Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph, the townships of Woolwich, Wellesley and Wilmot, and communities such as Elora and Rockwood. This page explains how the company works, the credentials you can check for yourself, how we choose the products we install and how we stand behind every job.

Serving Waterloo Region Since 1986

GTS has been fitting windows and doors in local homes for four decades, and the products have changed a great deal in that time. In the 1980s, aluminum sliders, wood windows and basic double glazing were still common across the region.

Today most of what we install is vinyl or fibreglass with Low-E coatings, argon fill and warm-edge spacers, and triple pane glass is a regular request. Entry doors have moved from solid wood toward insulated steel and fibreglass, with multi-point locks and far better weatherstripping.

The job itself has stayed the same: remove the old unit carefully, deal with whatever the opening reveals, and seal the new one properly. Years of opening up walls in local houses help us spot rot, missing flashing and past shortcuts before they turn into leaks.

The People Behind Your Installation

Every quote starts with an on-site measure of each opening, done by someone who understands installation, not just sales. The details gathered at that visit, from sill condition to interior trim, shape the product and method we recommend.

Our installers work across Waterloo Region and Wellington County every week, on everything from single glass replacements to full commercial door packages. You will know who is coming, when they will arrive and what they will do before work begins.

Credentials You Can Verify

Licensing and Liability Insurance

GTS is licensed and carries liability insurance, which protects your property if something is damaged during the work. Property managers and general contractors can request a certificate of insurance before site access.

WSIB Clearance

Our installers are covered by WSIB, Ontario's workplace insurance, so an injury on the job is handled through that system. A WSIB clearance certificate confirms our account is in good standing, and we can provide a current one before work starts.

SAWDAC Membership

GTS is a member of the Siding and Window Dealers Association of Canada. Dealer members must carry at least $2 million in liability insurance, have at least three full years in the renovation business and follow a code of ethics requiring truthful advertising and clear contracts.

How We Choose the Windows and Doors We Install

We would rather explain why a product suits your home than push a single brand. When we compare manufacturers, we look at the same points we would want answered for our own houses.

  • Certified performance: ENERGY STAR listing and CSA A440 (NAFS) ratings for air, water and wind resistance
  • Glass package: Low-E coatings, gas fill and warm-edge spacers suited to Ontario winters
  • Hardware: multi-point locks and operators from established makers such as Truth or Roto
  • Lead times and parts: dependable delivery and parts availability for future warranty work
  • Canadian-made options: products designed for Canadian climate zones where they fit the budget

How We Stand Behind Our Work

Every window and door we install is covered by our 20-year parts and labour warranty. For covered issues, both the failed part and the labour to replace it are included, which is not true of every product-only warranty.

Read the coverage, exclusions and claim steps on our warranty page, or see what customers say in our Google reviews. Our guide to choosing a window company lists the questions worth asking any installer, including us.
